MEET PAULINA
LEADERSHIP DELIVERING RESULTS FOR OUR COMMUNITY
On July 18, 2022, Judge Havelka was nominated to fill a vacancy in the general election as a candidate for Superior Court District 26A. She immigrated to the United States from Poland at the age of 11 in 1986. She became a naturalized citizen right here in Charlotte, North Carolina at the age of 18. Mecklenburg County is her home.
Her legal journey began 25 years ago as a Mecklenburg County Criminal Deputy Clerk. Inspired by law, she worked full time, attended school at night, while raising two small children when she completed law school and began practicing law in 2005.
In 2018, Judge Havelka was elected and has served our community since January 2019. Even in her short time, she was asked to Lead the Civil division of District Court. She has presided in family court, criminal court, domestic violence courts and currently general Civil. It has been said “with experience comes effective leadership” and that is what Paulina has to offer.
With the current backlogs in our Courts, we need someone that can handle the caseload without jeopardizing everyone’s constitutional rights in the process. Someone that will listen to all sides and apply the law. Judge Paulina Havelka is that Judge.
